gunpointmetal Posted October 12, 2017 Share Posted October 12, 2017 So, I love my Helix bag, but I want to be able to plug less stuff in when I set up at a show, so I'm getting pedalboard/case that will fit my Helix, my Wireless, a Power strip, and my output cables so I can keep everything plugged in as much as possible between shows, but I was wondering how people have been securing their Helices for transport. I think its probably a little too heavy for velcro (at least for me to feel comfortable moving it around) so I was think of locating some longer screws that fit where the feet are attached and attaching it to the board that way. DanielJW Posted October 12, 2017 Share Posted October 12, 2017 I have my Helix on Diago Tourman pedalboard along with a power supply and a few different pedals. I just removed rubber feet off the bottom and covered the bottom with velcro. When I did this I made sure to push it down and twist it around a little to get it to really grip onto the board. Verne-Bunsen Posted October 13, 2017 Share Posted October 13, 2017 I put mine on a Pedal Train Terra using the 3M Dual Lock which is like next-gen velcro. I believe I used 250 stems-per-inch on the board and the helix, and it ain't going nowhere. It's a challenge to get it off of there if I WANT it off. Everything else on the board is 250 stems-per-inch in the board and 170 stems-per-inch on the pedal which is secure but comes iff without swearing. I actually drilled holes in the surface of the board for the feet to be able to recess into, but upon actually installing it I can see that the combined thickness of the super-velcro keeps the feet above the surface anyway. I was careful not to obstruct any of the vents on the bottom, as I figure they are probably not there without cause... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The top dual lock strip is against the bottom of the Helix, and the bottom dual lock strip is adhered to the sticky side of a "hook" velcro strip. The velcro attaches to the felt bottom of my pedalboard case. I think I just use 4 or five dual lock strips on the bottom of the Helix, but it is solid. Do the push/twist/press/repeat method and it is hard to move and very annoying to lift off of the board when I need to rewire something. I don't believe I've ever tipped it upside down, but I do carry it vertically from my car from time to time, and it doesn't budge. Plus, the extra velcro strip gets the Helix just a little further off the pedalboard bottom, so I'm not worried about overheating. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That would be my concern. They are there for a reason, as well as the feet creating an air gap.
