Hi. I'm Antonioctd. Something happened with my account login... This is my new user name.
So, as some of you know I sold an audio interfa thinking I could just use the M20d as such, only to find out the INCREDIBLY BIG latency this system has over USB.
But it's ok. It still records good.
It's a PITA to make overdubs.
But I've found a way around it: I've set a nudge setting with the exact time displacement created by the latency. So after recording a clip (or "region" for pro tolls users) I just press a key and the audio is instantaneously on it's intended place in time.
Anyway, here are to tracks recorded using the M20d as an audio interface.
The mics were sheep and the rooms not very good. So nothing here is true professional.
But the quality I as able to get proves 2 points:
a) Nowadays it's possible to get really great recordings with a tiny fraction of the price of a professional studio.
Even almost all the VSTs I've used were open source or free! And they are great.
The M20d's mic pre-amps and converters are very nice sounding. It is possible to get a professional sounding recording with them provided you have good mics and good sources (musicians and instruments).
So it is a real shame that the latency is so bad.
God Line6!! Fix this and the M20d would be really a complete dream system
