Midi in Helix needs....

I would like to see the "instant" (lightning bolt symbol) settings (where you set what program/sound to use on the pedal) to have its own footswitch assignment option (and a program # assigned and sent every time the footswitch is pressed). This way I can set up (using the same midi channel) many different program changes (sounds) from a pedal (such as a Strymon Mobius), depending on what footswitch I press on the Helix controller.  Right now, setting up different program numbers on "Instant" (in the editor) and using the footswitch under them will not allow the program change to happen no matter the program # settings on "Instant" tab,  because they are all on the same midi channel and no additional control change is sent I'm thinking. Does that make sense?

I'm a little confused with what you're asking for specifically, but I think you're basically saying you would to have the ability to assign more than one MIDI command to a footswitch in Stomp Mode... I generally agree that would be nice. One thing to remember, though, is that the Instant Commands apply to snapshot changes as well as preset changes. So, for instance, you can have each snapshot in a Helix preset select a different preset in the Mobius. I have the Mobius and the BigSky connected to my Helix, and I have presets where I change presets in both pedals per snapshot. It's actually still really powerful as it currently exists.

Phil are you using an FX loop (Send and Return pair) per pedal? If so that won't work for me because I have all 3 Strymon pedals "daisy chained" audio wise and am using FX-Loop #4 in an "always-on" setting. I do this because (I have the other FX Loops used- AND) i want to have the BIG-SKY reverb on constant, and would like to switch on and off different settings of Time-Line and Mobius. In this setup, the only way I knew to do what I wanted was to have Helix send a program # every time you press a foot switch.

I do have the Mobius and BigSky each in their own loop, but even in your case you could still do what you want, I believe, with snapshot changes. You can have up to 6 Instant Commands per snapshot, so you could send 3 PC messages, each on its own channel, and the CC message for bypass if you needed to (it would be cleaner if Strymon used a PC message for bypass).

I don't really know just how to set this up with Snapshots, but will take another look- Thanks for your input Phil...

Just go to the Command Center and set the Instant Commands (the lightning bolts) how you want them for each snapshot. It goes fast after you do it once.

Phil if I only use the instant commands (lightning bolts), then how do I switch them off and on with no toggle command?

I'm using a CC #102 set to toggle on and off the effect from each pedal. If I remove this CC and just use the instant commands (lightning bolts) , how do I turn them off? I can not turn off that effect unless I switch to another effect? That cant be right.

Sorry abt the thick-headedness but whats new about that lol.  :P

Errrr, you weren't using anything in the "new" editor when you ?...., naw...   ;)
