Well I thought I had downloaded it, but can't find it on my PC. I tried again and it now says there is no version of Workbench available for the V standard and Windows 10...

I guess my question is...is this true? I bought this guitar with understanding I could download Workbench to tweek sounds etc.

I have a Variax 700 trem. I understand the issue with Workbench not able to run on Win 10. Bah. Line 6 could never be in the same league as normal guitar makers like Fender or Gibson. Heck! you can still use a 54 strat or a 59 les Paul with all the current hardware and software based systems. But as for being able to keep up to date with your legacy line 6 products, you've got no chance.

I have ditched Line 6 products. I used an original Flextone amp, a Vetta II, now my Variax is fit for nothing but a dustbin, or museum.

I've always been told keep it simple.i now use a custom Strat, Boss Pedalboard and all fed into my DT25. I guess it won't be long before the DT25 is unsupported. Still, I have  Marshall  6101. Trust that all the old gear will carry on for years. Line 6 gear is not of the classic ilk, despite all their references to classic tone. Huh!

Download the older version and run it on Windows 10 with compatibility settings. It worked for me.

The screen resolution was a bit small but workable on a larger screen or different resolution.

Alternatively you could install an older operating system on your PC or on a virtual machine under Windows 10.

Don't blame the company because you chose to upgrade your PC beyond the supported operating system for an older product. There are ways to solve your problem.

I connected the Variax 700 trem to my Win 7 laptop. I have the latest Workbench app updated via Monkey.  Connected V to XPS PSU / TRS In/Out and out, and  interface via the RJ45 socket to TRS in.  USB out to PC.  The  green light is on the power input of the luittle clear box, whilst the RJ45 light is flashing red. So all this adds up to the Tone locker not seeing the guitar in the app.  Need to talk to a tech at Line 6, or Yamaha.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

I am running Workbench 1.75 (latest not HD) and I run it on my Win 7 Toshiba laptop.

I've opened up a Support Ticket at Line 6, as I cannot find a solution.  By the way, the XPS footswitch unit does not show the LED as lit from the jack output to my amp.  And what with the flashing red LED from the Variax RJ45 to the USB interface.  I hope I can get a resolution as I need to make a custom setting for a drop tuning
