Replacing Dsp Chip In Spider Jam 75 Watt?

I have the same problem other people have with the Spider Jam

series:  resetting due to the DSP chip overheating.

Heatsinking the chip worked, but only for about a day.

The chip is an Analog Devices ADSP-21371 KSZ-2B.  You can order it here:

I have a hot-air rework station, and have replaced this type

of chip before, and I'm pretty sure it would work, because

the programming is in the ROM chips around the DSP chip,

and NOT in the DSP chip itself, right?

Thanks for any feedback.....
