Just getting the new SpiderIV75, ShortboardII, and SpiderIV Edit set up here. Edit asks for firmware update; Monkey recognizes it but fails to open the file claiming "unrecognized file type". So Edit will not see Spider. Any suggestions?

Try uninstalling Monkey from your computer, then reinstalling.   If that doesn't work, you may need to uninstall all Line 6 software (and delete the folders and files, too) and reinstall everything.  Yeah, a major PITA, but the software is glitchy that way.
