toezter
Hello all, before I buy a POD HD Pro, I am looking to see if I can make a semi-portable unit for small events to play through, mainly looking at desktop monitors for DAW set ups, or any other suggestions greatly appreciated. Not looking to play over a drummer, so it doesn't have to be aggressively loud. Just want to plug directly to the rack mount, no Poweramp/power conditioner, portable as possible with audible sound to fill a living room or coffee house. Thanks in advance all. pianoguyy
The Pod is not a power amp. You will need something to power your speakers.
toezter
Thanks you two, one of those "old" moments when you just need some reassurance. And thanks for the quick replies!
pianoguyy
My one suggestion would be... Make sure they use 1/4" jacks. You always want XLR going to the pa. You can run 1/4" to your gear while the XLR goes to the pa. That way you avoid any personal wiring conflict.
Triryche
If you are more concered with playing out and portability rather than acurate monitoring for mxing and recording, I would recomend powered DJ speakers, they are more rugged for transporting and typically give you more loudness per dollar. Most nearfield desktop monitors are really meant to travel to gigs.
