tochiro
Hi, I've just bought a 12 string guitar that I connect to my HD500X and I'm looking for the kind of sound the Byrds have when they play Tambourine Man... the old 60s sound. I tried with the Vox AC15 but it's disappointing... Any advice? Thanks a lot. Cheers
jcosta_sr
Try an AC-30. Also, I would put a red compressor as the first fx.
cclement
Much of Roger McGuins's stuff was recorded direct with a SHEDLOAD of compression, so running the cleanest amp/compressor combo you can will help Also, you need to restring with flat-wound strings. Remember, that round-wound strings are a "relatively" new invention and weren't readily available when much of the Byrds/Beatles tracks were cut. They definitely have a different sound than round-wounds.
