When We Get Firmware Update?

Hum, few corrections are still missing (looper problem with FBV Express MK2 - Tuner is no more possible to activate by using floorboard).

In addition to that I really think that new amps, a real graphic equalizer and eventually a model pack could be a really nice idea !

From my point of view it is more about next firmware evolution than new functions (bug corrections, changes ... and of course new functions, model packs and so on).

Where should we share needs for that ?

Could be ...

However the are still few bugs to solve (the one with Pod HD Bean and FBV MKII) is still 'under correction' as support told me and to other guys too.

Weird position

It would be nice to have an Orange amp model with accompanying cab and also on/off axis versions of all the mics, not just the SM57's.

I wouldn't say no to an additional bass amp either, although I am very happy with the Ampeg they added to the 2.0 version of the firmware.

Yeah, a thunderverb 200 would be sweet. I'd like to see the Bogner Ecstacy and/or Shiva get the Slo 100 treatment. And the Deizel VH4 get the same as well. !@#$ I love the SLO models!

As a side note, anybody else shocked when they did some research on the SLO for the first time and realized that it's a $4200 amp? Blew ma mind...

I wish they would reduce the number of amps and effects but improve the quality of the simulations.

don't thing that'd be possible without increasing the required DSP, which reduces the number of things you can run....

not a problem for some... but i can hear many crying over such a change.

Anything is possible. They can be first to introduce two different firmware modes one of the modes would be an amp modeler that runs higher quality algorithms without the need for dual path and heavy hitting effects while the other mode would be the current mode which is " Modeler, Multi effect, Sound Card, Live or studio, dual path and everything under the sun"

and i want gold buttons, platinum knobs and a diamond face for the screen

Subj.

I want to have some new amps and peak meter and other improvements maybe.

  1. more seconds of delay,
  2. if is posible zvex fuzz factory simulation.
  3. HD Pitch resolution.
  4. any LFO

I'd love to see amp/effect parameter controls assignable to footswitches rather than just pedals and knobs.  For example, having the gain control of the amp go from 30% to 100% by pressing FS4.

I wish for more bass amps and vocal preamps, as well as a Roland Jazz chorus...(ok and an amp for acoustic

This is possible with the Double Preset upgrade from R3FX. No need to wait for something that may never come. R3FX also does footswitch mods to upgrade the footswitches to pro grade switches. Jim does great work!!!

You can do that now. Just use two identical presets with different gain settings.  (Does anyone really need 512 presets at one time?)

hey boys,

"You can't always get what you want!" The Rolling Stones

  1. I would prefer the possibility to reduce the offered devices. There are a lot that I will never use or need, e. g. blue/red compressor, some fuzz boxes, some reverb etc. It would be very nice to deactivate them e. g. by HD Edit, so that the list of devices would be shorter and the editing time reduced.
  2. The graphical display of the amp knobs may be nice, but I would prefer digits. Because if you change something, your sound would be easier to restore it.
  3. If you like to assign a parameter to the expression pedal and you double click "Move" button the actual settings should be shown. E.g. you want to assign the drive parameter of an amp to the expression pedal you double click "Move" while the amp is selected. You select "drive" and the minimum and maximum bar chart shows values, that were no actual values. This is bulllollipop. Then you want to have look on the actual setting an switch back to the amp-knob-view, but can only guess because you don't see digits! (see point 2.)

I don't need more stuff in the hd 500, I need more usability, because this gear is great for this price!!!  :)

Have this option on my Eleven Rack and I too prefer digits over graphical display, so it would be a nice feature to add in a future update.

Cool, that's a good workaround.  I wish it didn't have to use EXP1 or EXP2 though, because I'm using those for volume/wah/pitch.  I'd like to have the firmware let me assign it to FSx instead.  I always have a free FS switch or two, but never have a free EXP.

i'll say this for the final and 10th time, line6 won't respond to request posted here. you have to submit a feature request.what are ya stooopid  and even if there were an update coming, they wouldn't announce it :(

Toneman2121, I hope you're saying that in humor. I know they can't satisfy everyone's requests. I sure have submitted several requests for EQ etc and I think quite a few did submit the same request yet it's a mystery as to if anything will ever be addressed.

Lately I've been very disappointed with Line 6. I was considering the new Variax around this past Christmas and found out that it doesn't have  a nylon model then In January 2013 they announced an update.  It was in the News section of this website, recently they removed that announcement completely. I guess when they announce an update in Winter NAMM and they don't deliver as we head into summer, what's the point in announcing. Still they're selling these things faster than they can make them. I just think they're short handed but I know at some point there will be POD Farm HD and many more updats, it's just going to take time. The question is how long will customers stick around if there are similar viable solutions outhere.

I don't know if it affects line 6 in the least that I just went and bought an Eleven Rack and that I didn't buy a Variax due to the lack of direct communications with customers and the terrible support to the HD line that also stopped me from buying their new speaker systems when I was in the market for that, instead I went for a Yamaha solution. If they don't read these boards, I personally think they should if they care about dollars and cents, but I guess they're doing very well so they don't even bother to respond with anything!

NAMM = Not available, maybe May...

Seriously, it's not at all uncommon for companies to announce things at trade shows and run into things that slow the actual release of a product. It's kind of hard to be too upset about the delay of a free update. I suppose there are some people that could have been pushed over into buying a Variax based on the announcement, but even then, the announcement regarding the Variax was so vague it's not entirely clear what it will actually do.

My suggestion always is that you buy a product based on the features and benefits it offers now, not for something it may or may not offer in the future.

But the volunteers are dyed in the wool users. They have some great knowledge and get some perks related to gear, beta firmware etc.. But are still under gag orders so even if they know they can't say. I like Line6 gear for their price/performance ratio, but they sure miss the mark on customer service and even product engineering.

I bought my HD500 for what it could do at the time I bought it, so the extra models are a bonus. But if you are done updating a product to correct issues, just let your customers know so they can make informed decisions for future purchases.

It's funny to be referred to as a "volunteer". I guess, technically, that's the correct term. None of the people who have the Expert User title are paid, and some of us have been involved in beta testing (other people have too). But I liked and used Line 6 stuff well before any of that happened. It was actually my positive interaction with Line 6 customer service that convinced my to do what I do here. I wouldn't do it if I didn't think it was worth my time.

I guess I am curious to how people think Line 6's customer service is deficient. For a company of their size, I think they do very well. They actually moved away from the forums being a customer service venue a while ago. They are user forums, and that means they're mostly a way for users to talk to each other. There are a lot of questions that get asked that aren't really customer service issues, so in that sense the forums are useful. If people have actual problems with gear, the way to receive attention is to use the support ticket system.

Absolutely, that's why I didn't buy the Variax, it didn't have a nylon model. I like the HD500 for the price ratio, but now that I compare it with the Eleven Rack that I just bought for under $400, it's clear to me that Amp Modeling in the ELeven is significantly more advanced, so I no longer care about the modeling in the HD, I use it for effects and midi. I do however believe that Line 6 possibly has more advanced algorithms that aren't used because they want to include everything under the sun in these pods. I hope someday they will release a product without compromising the amp models just so they can squeeze in tons of effects.
