pratikb
Is there any way of using pod desktop tones with pod 500? Thanks, Pratik
silverhead
Yes - use this patch conversion utility (thanks jzab): http://www.jzab.de/content/pod-hd Note: I assume you mean the Pod HD Desktop. If you mean the original Pod 2.0, or the Pod xt/X3 then the answer is no.
BigChas52
I actually believe you can use the Bean HD tones directly on the HD500 simply by changing the filename extension from .hbe to .h5e. It will not always work the other way around though work the other way around though due to extra input and output selections on the HD500. silverhead
I've had hit and miss experiences in just changing filename extensions, or drag/dropping presets, among the Pod HD/Pro/HD500 devices. All presets for those devices are generally compatible except for the i/o options. Sometimes changing filenames or drag/dropping works perfectly, and sometimes you still need to tweak the inputs. Depends, as you say, on which devices you are using as source and destination. Not saying that changing extension or drag/drop won't work - just saying it can be spotty, and you may have to fiddle around a bit in the editor to get the preset to work in the destination device. Just saying that using the converter handles both filename and input conversions, for all device combinations, without the need to tweak the preset further once imported into the device editor.
