I cannot find the usb eject option like other usb devices. So I just turn off the POD HD. But after I do that, the window xp will go to the out memory blue screen and the mac os will restart immediately. Do anybody have the same experience? guitarno Posted November 5, 2013 Share Posted November 5, 2013 Never experienced that problem. I am using an iMac - I just pull the power plug on the HD500X. I don't normally disconnect the USB plug from the POD, unless I'm packing it up to go somewhere else to play. I have though, and on my iMac, it hasn't caused any problems at all. It will if it's a hard drive or something where it's being mounted. If I pull out the USB plug of my external hard drive, the OS will complain that it wasn't shut down properly, but when I plug in the POD through USB, it doesn't appear to be handled like a drive (doesn't actually get "mounted" like a drive volume?). If it is "Mounted" in OSX like a drive, you should see an icon on your desktop as soon as you plug it in. If so, just drag the icon to the trash to dis-mount it. In Windows, there should be an icon on the lower right side of the taskbar for USB devices that are connected - if you hover over it with your mouse, it will say ""Safely remove hardware and eject media". How do you disconnect or eject usb port of the POD HD from window or mac? In my experience, with Windows Vista, my HD500 doesn't show up with other USB attachments in the eject safely icon. So I have always just pulled the USB cable from the computer (because I am generally going to be using the HD500, and so I leave it on). Of course, I never do that while I'm updating setlists in either direction. That's not to say that I'm doing it correctly; it's just the only way I've found to disconnect conveniently, and it hasn't so far created a problem for me. YMMV. radatats Posted November 5, 2013 Share Posted November 5, 2013 Yep, my PC with Win7 64bit does not show the POD in the Eject list. I shutdown HD Edit first, then disconnect USB cable with POD still on, never had any issues. I always do the reverse when connecting too. POD on and ready, USB connected, start HD Edit. Similarly POD to DT with L6 link: POD on first and ready, DT power on in standby, wait a minute or two, DT master to zero, DT standby to on, set DT master as desired. To shut down, DT master to zero, DT to standby, wait a minute, DT power off, POD off if necessary. If you are going to use the POD with HD Edit and the DT, go through the steps for connecting USB and HD Edit first, before turning on the DT and turn off the DT before disconnecting USB.
