Any Trys At Eric Johnson's Tone

I know it's ridiculous to ask a question like this, but has anyone found reasonable success at copying EJ's tones out of their spider? I've found the classic chorus preset in customtone to emulate a nice EJ clean sound, although the delay may need to be warmed up a bit.

As for his rhythm sound, I tried to use the crunch red to emulate the sound of a Dumble, and having fuzz on standby for a lead tone. And then high gain red with a little bit of fuzz for a standard vintage sounding lead. For both rhythm and lead, I use medium hall and tube echo with the echo's eq down to make it smoother.

Yeah, I usually go middle with the tone wide open. I thought EJ used a 335 to record Cliffs

That's not what I read, but I can't verify either.  A chamber-bodied LP and a 335 both would work for maximum sustain and controlled feedback.
