Omgersaur
Hello everyone, I have a POD HD PRO that is currently down and out for the count due to the PCB board (power section) being physically broken (snapped in half actually... long story). The fix couldnt possibly be any easier... it's plug and play... problem is, the only line 6 repair station in my area is absolutely retarded and should be boycotted due to their absolutely rediculous repair cost of $79 for an "evaIuation" when I already know, and showed them what is wrong with it. Then a "probable" 4 hour fix at another hourly rate. It would literally take 45 seconds to install a new power section pcb board. I guess my real question is... does anyone know if Line 6 has any retailer that sells HD PRO pcb boards? I have found them for x3's and xt's but am having no luck finding HD's repair parts anywhere. stumblinman
You live in Portland Oregon? Shops here are ridiculous too. Can't help though. Good luck!
AParedes
Just because the service center is close doesn't mean you have to go there... try calling a few others and see what the rates are. You can even ask if they will sell you the part if you have the tech skills to do it yourself, but keep in mind some service centers won't do this and it is their call on "if" they will sell parts to customers without doing the installation. This is what I ran into. They said they had the part but wouldn't sell it to me because their margin is higher on labor than on parts. $75 bench fee plus $75/hr labor to install an $8 part. TheRealZap
service centers are independent... call a few and tell them you just want them to get you the part... many will say no.. but you only need one yes.... i assume you're open to a reasonable markup on the part itself (hey they are trying to make a living...) but i certainly understand when it comes to labor... sometimes it's dirt easy and i wouldn't want to pay either.
