Pod Hd Pro Question

Hey guys,

I use my Pod HD Pro for live gigging alot and i have a slight delay when changing presets via a MIDI footswitch wich is unfortunate.

Now my question is: Will the preset changing be faster if i use a line 6 FBV pedal via the Ethernet port instead of MIDI?

Thanks,

Victor.

have you updated your pod to the latest? I'd do that first.

I'm not sure how much different of an experience you'd have with the floorboard, seeing as how you'd need a direct comparison....

i'd pick one up and try it... you'll probably have some time when you could return it if its no better.

if you have a number of time-based effects running on each patch that could be where the "load time" is coming into play and causing a slight delay between presets.  Perhaps dialing back on the effects (especially long reverbs) may help shorten the time?  would be an interesting experiment to see if it helps.

I haven't noticed any problems for my applications when having a MIDI controlled xt or HD500X syncing with a Pro Tools rig (for video), but I don't use a lot of effects.    BTW: the FBV also send MIDI CCs (over the Ethernet cable)  from what I was told back in CS training - so the message is the same, just the messanger is changing.  As Zap said, the only way to know for sure is to try it.
