Loekito
I just purchase my JTV-59, and the next day after I arrive on my home country, then I start to play with it. And I notice, that pushing the alt-tuning knob won't change the current 2-3-4 selector configuration to 1-3-5 ones. What I can recall during trying the guitar in the shop, when I push the alternate-tuning knob, then the light on the model knob will turn from blue into white (or slight of red hue?) and vice versa. Is this correct? But now, when I push the alt-tuning knob, nothing happend, the light on the model knob is remain blue, and the switch selector is stay on the 2-3-4 configuration. But I can select the model on the 1 and 5 position via POD HD500. I already un-plug the "knob", and directly push the potentio shaft, and it's also don't have any effects. I already try to flash the firmware several times, it's also got no effects. Is the "push" action on my alt-tuning knob broken? (note: the alt-tuning selection is working fine by dialing/rotating on it). Is there any way to perform a diagnostic, to make sure whether it's a hardware (the potentio) fault or software (firmware) fault ? Any you guys here encounter the same problem with me before? Thanks & regards, Loekito
silverhead
... I already un-plug the "knob", and directly push the potentio shaft, and it's also don't have any effects. ...... Is the "push" action on my alt-tuning knob broken? (note: the alt-tuning selection is working fine by dialing/rotating on it). ..... I would have suggested that you remove the knob and push down on the shaft as a test. Since you've already done this with no success, and have already reinstalled the firmware, I think there must be a hardware problem with whatever trigger is under the shaft. I would open a support ticket to work directly with Line 6 to resolve this. http://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html
Loekito
Hai Silverhead, thanks for your reply, do you know what kind of the potentiometer used on the alt-tuning knob? is it a regular potentiometer that we can purchase on guitar-parts store? or it's specific/special-made potentiometer by Line 6 ? Note: I'm not staying in the same country where I purchase the JTV. Thanks, Loekito
silverhead
I don't know. I suspect it's a special rather than regular switch/potentiometer. Again, I think you should open a support ticket so that you can ask this question to Line 6 directly.
