Very nice.  (That's not helping my LP special/Jr with 2xP90 gas right now, either :))

Yep, sounds pretty dang close.

Much reminiscent of Knopflers tone.

Hehe, I hear a little Knopflerish sound in there -- pretty surprising considering the guitar model.  Sounds like you used your fingers for some snap?  That would explain it.  I guess an LP Special is a tad closer to a Strat than a thicker ached top LP would be.  Neck P90's are typically ~3x the inductance of a classic neck Strat pickup though, so maybe Gilmore had the tone knob down some for that solo?  That would basically sound more like a P90.  Super nice tone and playing, either way.

thanks :)

In this case I used my thick 2mm Dunlop pick which gives a feel a bit similar to the fingers, that's one of the reasons I like it..

to record "Sultans Of Swing" I used instead my fingers..

I'm sure that for the studio recorded version Gilmour used the neck P90 pickup of its Les Paul..

but live he used instead a Strat..

Well great job and great play hurghanico. That's the best sound clone I heard. I just hope I can get that with my DT25 after the chain.

Variax 700? Another reason to make me miss before HD update guitars...

well, I'm not a lucky DT25 owner, but I imagine you should get even better results if you can turn up the volume of your DT25 to the point the real valves start to sing..
