Cabinet Type 1) 412 Vs-t Or 2) Spider 412 Cab

Best Answer joecozzi , 13 January 2014 - 06:35 AM

Main difference: the 412VS cabs are larger and come with CelestionVintage 30 speakers. They will render a more defined tone. Lastly, they can function at 4,8 or 16ohms Mono. Spider Cab can only work at 4 or 8ohms. The 412VS will allow you to take full advantage of the ouput capabilities of your HD147 in any one of the five possible 4x12 configurations present in the HD147 manual.

Either cabinet will work, but not sound the same and allow for the same expandability.

Sorry, but they both seem almost identical to me - I have the HD147 head at present but what's the difference in the two cabinets they both have 4x12 celestions in a closed cabinet ?

I see the spider cab is a lot cheaper for one.

Size wise they are similar too

Am I being thick (as usual) ?

IMHO, there can never be anything "thick" about asking questions.

That's what this forum is for !

What's more, you've almost certainly helped others who were (or are) wondering about the same thing.  :)
