Pod Hd Desktop Worth Updating To From Pod 2.0

I only use my POD 2.0 (it is actually a 1 with the 2.0 chip) to record with but the MIDI in and out is a pain most of the time to do tone stuff. I have finally gotten close to the tones I want for certain things (mostly metal but I am missing a presence) but want to know what I am missing in the HD version. And since mine is at least 15 years old it may be time to upgrade but I also have other things on my list to purchase so I don't want to drop the dough if it's not much of an update.

if you like and enjoy the editing on the pc/mac the HD will be a huge upgrade via usb.

lots of new effects and improved sound quality... i think its worth it...

and sweetwater is having a nice sale on them too... 199$ i think.

dont think it can use your old floorboard though...

I used to have a POD 2.0, actually I still have it somewhere.  It will take a while to figure out the PODHD because it has a TON more stuff than the POD2.0 plus is extremely flexible in its routing..  This is a no brainer with the sale at Sweetwater for $199 bucks.  My only suggestion is hurry up while the sale is going on.

+1 to all.  If you were using a Line 6 controller and want to know if it will still work with your new POD HD bean - check the Ethernet jack on your POD 2.0: if it says "FBV" then it works with the later controllers (FBV and FBV Mk II). if it says "pedal" it is not compatible with the newer units (Line 6 had to make this change around 2001with the release of Vetta).

I assumed it being chipped to 2.0 and not originally a 2.0 that there was no chance it would have the FBV connection.

worth checking, surely...
