I finally got my HD500X and it is amazing. This may not be the problem but when i turn on the POD i see total 16 factory presets. But after 16D it again goes back to 1A. I don't want to change the factory presets but need to make something new in user presets. How can I go to user presets?

In the Line6 Edit software at the top of the preset lists is

a drop down menu to access which setlist you want to

edit in. In your case, You'll want to access the

"User" 1,2 or 3 Setlist to make your presets in.

The factory presets take up a fair portion of the POD

but you can create custom setlists other than the factory

defaults and make your presets in them.

Accessing setlists directly from the POD is also possible

by pressing once on the dial on the left side of the LCD.

Like you I wanted to retain factory presets and was left

with about 3 or 4 setlists to play with, plenty enough for me.

All in all.

*   8 Setlists.

* 64 Presets per setlist.

8 x 64 = 512 presets.

Hope this helps.

As I said..

"Accessing setlists directly from the POD is also possible

by pressing once on the dial on the left side of the LCD."

Press down on the dial once (it functions as a button too) Then rotate the dial to change setlist.

Theres a label directly under the dial that says *press for setlists*

When you've chosen the setlist you want with the dial, press *enter* to select it.

lol took me a while before I figured that out aswell.

Hope this helps.

  • 9 months later...

my hd500x is work out....just show me lin6   lin6    lin6.....how can i fix it?

If I understand correctly the Line 6 boot up screen is stuck in a loop. If so power up the POD by plugging in the power cable whilst at the same time holding down the left arrow key which is below where the word 'enter' is printed.

Good luck.
