You overpass the original! Even better!!! Bravo Nico!

P.S. I will make a group of fans of your tone to request tone uploading on custome tone...

Very nice.  Next time I hear someone saying their $3000 AXE FXII is so much superior I'll send them this link.

thanks to you Aris and to all the other forum friends commenting here :)

regarding the customtone upload request, I have 2 answers, you choose:

the serious answer is:
it is more productive to manually copy a patch because by doing so, you see and understand better why it is built that way ..

with a patch ready for use, you use it as it is, probably without noticing to the way in which it is made ..

the
less serious answer is:
I never use HD500 Edit, and it is a bit boring to do transfers ...
but if there are many requests, maybe I will
;)

Great! Do you use 1M or 3.5M? Another piece of the puzzle...

thanks..

my HD500 guitar-in-Z parameter is set to AUTO, but in my case doesn't matter, because I'm using my Variax through VDI, and the impedance setting affects only the GUITAR IN input

I'm trying to nail Alvin Lee’s sound on Woodstock - Ten Years After - I'm Going Home(Live).

Also looking for a JTV 2.0 patch for Alvin Lee’s “Big Red” guitar.

So far my tests gave me this sound (Recorded live with 1974 Strat+HD500+Fender Prosonic Custom Shop with 4CM cabling), no JTV):

Any ideas-suggestions are welcome.

the sound you got in your video clip is very good, it seems a bit fatter in comparison with the Alvin Lee version you posted here, but it could be because of the ambience resonance you were in at the moment..

I know that generally Alvin Lee used a 335 with an added single coil in between the 2 humbuckers, and marshall amp cranked, and he achieved the various different tones from clean to distorted by simply using the guitar volume, going from about 5 to 10, no FXs at all..

probably in his clip you posted he used the bridge HB, (not sure if there is also the single coil contribute)..

at the moment I don't have time to do experiments since I'm quite busy with my job..

anyway I think that if I were going to do a patch to get this sound, as usual for me I would use the single input approach with my HD500, and I would start with a 335 bridge PU model, the marshall plexi or park models with the gain cranked, before starting to mess with the amp controls I would do a tour of all the mics and if nothing convinces me I'd try some different cabs/mics, when I get very close to the sound I would do the finishing touch by changing a little here and there the standard controls, and adding a bit of reverb..
