Spire2002
I am experiencing random popping sounds when using the four-cable method through my rig. This 'digital matter' becomes more audible the longer I have my amp on and does not dissipate when the master volumes on both my amp and POD are turned down. Though the background is less present when I play with a clean preset, it's always there. Here's my rig: Schecter Hellraiser Peavey XXX head ValveKing 412 cab Shure PG-14 wireless guitar system HD500x Rhythm Preset reading from left to right: Noise gate (20%~) -> Screamer -> ENGL Fireball (no cab) -> TubeScreamer -> Spring Reverb (clicked off) -> DigiDelay (clicked off) -> Smart Harmony (clicked off) I have tried the following: - changed out cables - playing without wireless - plugged amp and POD through a power conditioner - using only two cables running into my guitar and into the input of the amp - eliminating ALL effects except for the amp model and adding effects one by one - turning the noise gate threshold up OR adding more gates with lower thresholds **this helped, however, the notes do not sustain and die off unnaturally** - playing through a completely different rig and guitar (Telecaster) - plugging my rig into an outlet in a different room in the house Line6 said it may be a grounding issue (loose chassis) but I'm not covered to mail it into them so I'm hoping I can get some advice before I make the next move.
