albatross32
I have an issue with output recording levels. I am connecting my HD500X via USB to my computer so that I can use Mixcraft 6 for basic home multi track recording. However, I don't seem to be able to get good results because the signal level is too weak. If I adjust the input level on Mixcraft to maximum the level still remains low. Is there a way of increasing the output levels of the HD500X or is this just a limitation of the Mixcraft 6 recording software?
jmb390
Hi, I"m having a similar issue except that my level is slightly too high. I'm using REAPER and it doesn't allow my to adjust the IN level. That being said, I would think that the Master Level on the POD would adjust the USB out but it does not. Any luck on this one? Smashcraaft
Hijacking this thread: I started some test recordings with Cubans today and recognized a cracking sound when listening to my recordings (playback over the POD HD). Switching to standard ASIO-driver and putting the headphones to the phones-output of the PC removes the crackle. While playing, the crackle aren't in the signal too. EDIT: the crackle does not disappear leveling the input fader. And it is in distortion and clean sounds.
jmb390
when connected through USB and set as the audio interface in your DAW your POD master volume knob serves only to adjust the monitoring level through your headphones and external monitors (doesn't affect the signal through USB).. to adjust the the DAW track input level you should use the POD mixer block faders, if is still not enough turn up the amp model volume, and/or add a Studio EQ at the end of the chain and turn up its volume level Thanks, this is a great answer! Not sure I'm a fan of that setup since you have to adjust patches between recording and show levels, but it can be worked with.
Smashcraaft
based on your description I would say that the crackle you got is due to an improper setting of the buffers of the POD ASIO driver.. I've put a green arrow on the above pic to show what needs to be adjusted to fix the issue if it happens only on playback.. if instead the crackle is fixed on the recording, then you should adjust the setting indicated by the red arrow Hey hurghanico. That did the job and fixed my problem. It took a while because my PC is occupied by my son most of the time (he is addicted to Minecraft) but I like to thank you very much!
