To the best of my knowledge, the HD500 acts as the computer's soundcard, when connected via USB. You'll need to connect speakers or head/earphones via headphone output from the HD500 and monitor sounds from there. This is so that when you're recording direct to computer using the HD500, you will have minimal latency.

I just purchased a POD HD 500 and I am learning to use the edit software on my MacBook. However, I can't hear anything through the computer's speakers. What do I need to do to fix that problem?
