I just got a new Macbook pro with Mavericks already installed, downloaded monkey, downloaded line 6 hd500 edit, neither of them recognise the hd500 and line 6 monkey drivers are not updating, I've downloaded and updated new mavericks usb drivers about 9 times and still when i open monkey it says i need to update USB drivers. i cannot update the device firmware because it says there is no device.

please help i need to update my patches for shows in a week.

I had the same problem. It turned out it was caused by a need to update the Line 6 Monkey software. And I have NEVER in 4 years been able to update Line 6 Monkey without incident. You'll need to download it directly, instead of hoping that the ever-wonky Monkey software will be able to update itself. It'll probably throw out erroneous reasons why it can't do that, so here is the direct link.
