mushmouth123
Just got myself a used Pod XT, never used one before, but I wanted a plug and play unit to go direct into my Tascam 8 track. I plugged it into my 8 track yesterdsay, tinkered around a bit with headphones and realised there is hum like an amp, it does seem to get better when I touch the strings. Do these Pods hum like an amp?, if I press the gate button it gets really loud when the gate is off. Is this normal?.I haven't reflashed just updated software.. Triryche
Depends on the hum, but yes, many of the models do have a hum like a real amp, especially anything high gain.
BillBee
Try using the noise gate by changing the parameters (increase the threshold) or find a patch that doesn't have a hum, if all models have a hum then it might not be the XT's fault. Look for anything else plugged in nearby that might cause any interference (like one of those CFL bulbs or the ole computer itself) Different power outlet. Try some other cables as well - I had this (not with the XT but in general) and it was driving me nuts (forgot step 1 was -> check the cables). Love the XT and its cleans are well really clean :) -Bill
