Hi

Does anyone know an easy way to find the Line6-created tones from Tone search?

If I enter Line 6 I get 30 but I'm sure there are much more.  Anyone got any bright ideas?

cheers

Shakey

Strangely the blurb for the update promised:

• My Tones now include Factory Presets to help start your tone collection

Maybe I am just not understanding how you find these?

I too wonder where those presets are...perhaps they only show for new users that haven't already made a bunch of tones?

I think these tones are for the new pedalboard (fx100?) that links to the amplifi. If you read the app blurb it does not say that these are for the amplifi, despite appearing in the amplifi app update, crazy stuff. It is mystifying that the app does not hold the list of presets that are available.

I have made tones with my xtlive that should be compatible but they aren't showing up in an amplifi cloud search.

When I have made a tone with amplifi, saved it to the cloud, edited it to create a version, saved it with a new name, it then appeared twice with the new name, both versions are now identical. Clearly this is a device that is only just hatched.

The FX100 doesn't link to the AMPLIFi 75/150.

It's basically the AMPLFIfi in pedal board form with no power amp or speakers.

Tines loaded to Custometones can not be part of the AMPLIFi cloud, some models from the xt and X3 are not on the AMPLIFi.

Also there are things you can do in the signal chain on the AMPLIfi that you cannot do on the xt or X3, like multiple instances of the some type of effect.

I noticed this too Shakey I think the tone search has a limit of 30 tones.  If you type in "Line" vs "Line6" vs "Line 6" you get a few different Line6 tones but each time it's limited to 30.  If you type in "Hendrix" or "Led", again you get 30 tones.  When you search from the music library, the limit there seems to be 40 tones. As this system matures and more people write tones, I would think the 30 or 40 limit may just be a small portion of what's available.  But on the other-hand, if you get a few hundred hits every time you search for a tone, that too may be cumbersome, repetitive, and just too much info to be useful. (Of course, none of this changes the real issue here -- and that is why there can't be an easy way to see all the Line6-created Amplifi tones.)

Thank you for the clarification.

I know I was being a bit optimistic, but as my XTlive is older than the Amplifi and the Amplifi has extremely similar modelling to the XT then the Amplifi 'should be' able to duplicate the XT tones. Obviously there are hardware and coding differences, but it would be nice. Especially as the Amplifi holds only four presets and there does not appear to be a easy way to just browse presets without going online. We can't always be on the internet.

Here's what's missing from this: Since the search results are limited to 30, and it's always the top 30, first, they need to change this on the iOS/Android device app. If you search for Line (e.g.), you get 30. There are more than 30. How can you determine which 30 the app decides to serve up? You can't. Download one to your device, search again, the same one(s) you already have still pop up. It's a very poor search facility.

Second, as this is all happening through Bluetooth, there is good reason to create desktop machine applications for the AmpliFi. I use the 75 in my office and home studio, and it would be good to be able to interact with the amp from the desktop iMac.

Third, there should be some kind of website reference or repository (the latter especially if they make a desktop app) for amp patches. That way one could see sorted and unlimited lists of patches, and searching would also be much easier.

Yep, agree entirely!  Just need to get Line6 to take these ideas on board...

I think they will... especially now with the FX100 now coming (basically an AMPLIFI without the amplifier) ... Line 6 will probably sell a bunch of those pedals so they'll be more users screaming for many, if not all, of the same ToneMatch features AMPLIFI users are wanting. Fortunately, we're on the front end of these new products cycle. If these were PODs we were looking for features to be added to I'd be much less optimistic.
