offtheroad
If I'm just using my POD at home what is the down side of useing POD HD500X Edit software insted of the tiny screen on the HD500X. I talked to a tech at Line six and he said you have to save more often with the soft ware than if you just use what's on the screen of the POD. I'm on a Mac with latest Mavericks OS and 12GB ram. silverhead
The advantage is purely ease-of-use. All parameters of all amps and FX are more visible and accessible; you can see/do most things in a few screens rather than many, many individual screens. You can't do anything in Edit that you can do on the device, and vice-versa. It is no more difficult to SAVE and you don't need to do it more frequently; in both cases it's a conscious action that involves pushing buttons, either on the device itself or with the mouse. offtheroad
Thanks for the speedy reply. It looks like using the Looper functions are not accessable thru the app. I hope I can use Logic Pro with this? I also hope I have enough processing power with my old Mac Pro 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 12 GB RAM
gunpointmetal
Patch changes are glitchy (noisy click/pop occasionaly/takes a second to switch) with the app running, but I'm guessing thats not an issue you want to use it that way anyways. silverhead
Using Logic Pro and HD Edit at the same time may be problematic. Both programs will be using the same USB connection, and that can easily confuse communications. I recommend not using them simultaneously. You're right about the Looper; it's a recording function rather than an editing function so the Editor does not address it.
offtheroad
Thanks for the tips. It will be a huge challenge just learning Logic Pro. I'm an old timer and haven't played seriously in a band in years except for a few number at my daughter wedding a few years back. But I had so much wine in me I was missing chord changes. Every one said it was great I thought it was horrid.
