Footswitch Light For Multi-assigned Blocks

I created a preset that had only an amp, a low res delay (post-split), and a color drive (pre-split).

When I first set this up, it was only an amp and a low res delay block. I assigned FS4 to the low res display, so it would light up red with the low res delay engaged, and of course no light when I pressed FS4 and turned off the block.

I set it up so that the color drive block would be engaged when I turn off the low res delay, so I then additionally assigned the color drive to FS4. Once I did that, the red light surrounding FS4 is only lit up when I have the low res delay off and the color drive on. This isn't a huge deal, but I prefer the red light to be lit when the delay is on, not when the color drive is on. No matter which one I assign first, or how much I try to change it, with both the drive and delay assigned to FS4, I can't ever get it to show the red light on except when the drive is engaged.

Is this normal? Is there a way to change it to my preference? I used it when performing this past Sunday, and it was fine, I'd just prefer it the other way.

This seems normal. I could get it to visually work the way you want, but it's useless because the lo-res delay would be pre-split and the color-drive post-split. So it seems the light behavior is determined by pre- and post-split positions.

I thought it was determined by the state of effects when you assign the foot switch?

That's what I thought, but no matter what I assign to the footswitch first, it only lights up when the drive in pre is engaged. I think duncann may have it right about the light behavior being determined by the effect block in the pre-split position.

The first block in the chain from left to right will determine the light status. Even if two blocks using the same footswitch are pre-split, the one further to the left will determine light on/off status.

That makes more sense.

Thanks, that answers the question that there's no way to change to the way I was trying to set it up. At least I know, now.

place a studio EQ or noise gate (100/0)  b4 the color drive 'n match it's status with the LoResDelay.

Assign same FS4.

Now u got the light opertating as u wish (the red FS4 light is ON when the delay/ngate is on, and OFF when the color drive is on)...

studio EQ and noise gate do not colour ur sound.

Demo HD500X patch attached..

Great idea, I hadn't thought of that. Thanks.

Hello,

my following problem is switching between multi fx blocks. When I have a multi fx called Steve Lukather assignt to FS8 and a multi fx block assignt to FS7 I can't switch between FS8 and FS7. The FS8 is actif and I the only thing I can do is turn it on and off. When it's turned of all effects are gone but the delay is on. The delay and all other effects are all assignt to FS8. Why can't I switch multi fx between FS5 til FS8 and why is the delay still turned on when the other effects assignt to FS8 are non-actif? I'm testing the pod HD500 now for 1 year and nothing is working. The firmware and software are all up to date.

Without knowing more or seeing your settings, it sounds to me like you have FS 5-8 set to footswitch mode rather than ABCD Preset mode. You can change that in the system settings, which is described in more detail in the manual.

Hello Line6 support,

I have a problem with my POD HD500.
If I use sounds with overdrive or distortion I got feedback when I stop playing guitar.
I tried everything I could find on the forums about this problem but with no solution.

The only solution I have is to change the "Guitar In" switch to turn from POD to Normal but that changing the feel of playing with my solo's, less sustain.

What can I do to fix this problem?

Kind regards,

Dave Janssen
