Removing a Set List from HD500x

Been using HD500x both with Stagesource L2 and into the front end of my rig. Works fine. I vary set lists a lot and would like to be able to clean out old set lists in the HD500 memory, but I cant find any edit function on the HD500x unit or in the editor that will allow me to do this. Have I missed something

No, memory is OK, its just that I have some unwanted set lists that are no longer used. If I cant clear them out, if I upload a bunch of new ones will they automatically replace all the old ones in date order?

After unzipping the file from duncann, run HD500x Edit. Make the setlist you want to replace the 'active' setlist by selecting a preset in it. Then use the HD500x Edit 'Open Setlist' command and select duncann's setlist. This will replace all presets in the old setlist with all presets in the new setlist, which duncann has kindly arranged to all be 'empty'. Finally, use the Send Setlist command to transfer the setlists from the Edit program's working memory to the the HD500x device for future access.

But, as Triryche has pointed out, this is entirely cosmetic. There will be no performance improvement, and the only reason to do it is because having the old ones there seems to bug you.

P.S. Before replacing the old unused setlist you might want to Save it first. You never know if the day will come when you say ..."Remember that old setlist I used to have......?"

It's not the oldest set list that will be replaced, it is the active one as silverhead points out.

I think I have a bit of OCD, so I get it if you just want the set-list "empty'.

Nice chops on your sire btw.

I'm assuming you mean my site? Thanks. Continually working on it and never quite being satisfied with most of it though. You probably know what that's like. :)  Currently working on a bass part for Early Beginnings as well as a more complicated drum part.

I just gave it a quick listen. Some really good sounding stuff, and the "Early Beginnings" has a really nice Vai type of vibe going on.

Thanks. Steve Vai sure has a singularity's worth of influence on me. At first it was Joe Satriani because his songs were much easier to just 'listen' to and take in. Mr. Vai's songs take more work, and multiple listenings, to listen to and 'see'.

The comment made by Triryche relating to OCD doesn't just extend to setlists (which is probably a reason I have that on my hard drive in the first place) but also to the huge possibilities and flexibility of the POD. Never quite satisfied until nearly all possibilities are explored. Sometimes I have to look at it as a way to increase my tolerance to frustration.

that would be a bad idea.. seeing as how some presets from older firmware can cause the logo loop...

they haven't had many significant changes...

but if its worth it to you... go for it.

i wish i could download the original setlists that came with each firmware version without having to reflash just to extract them.
