bslbryan
I just picked up a POD X3, used, from a friend. He already made a ton of tones. Basically, as I was changing the tone in the tones or home menu it appears the bass knob (I'm guessing) forced the POD into edit mode, and I accidentally changed the great amp I was using to something else, no clue what it was named so I just selected a new amp. I wanted to get back to the tones. As I had never seen the amp menu before I pressed "Amp", which changed the amp, obviously. I didn't know how to get back to the tones menu, so I guessed. I pressed the (what I now see is the) Save knob under home, to get back to my tones. I found the tone I wanted (3D - Shred), and hit (what I thought was "okay" but in reality it was) "save", So now my favorite tone, which I absolutely needed for an audition, has been saved over by a random tone. I really don't know what to do here. There's no undo button, is there a way to download the stock software on this thing and revert it? What if my niece started playing around with this thing and saved over all of my tones? That must have been thought of, please tell me there's a way? Thanks. Triryche
You can reflash the X3 to get back all the factory presets, but this will not bring back any tones your friend made. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-x3/pod-x3-series-factory-reset-reflash-and-firm-r412 You can also back up individual tones or all the atones as a bundle with a computer. silverhead
... What if my niece started playing around with this thing and saved over all of my tones? .... That's why you want to use Gearbox regularly to save backup copies of your bundle/presets. Maybe your friend did this and he can give you a recent backup of the tone/bundle file which contains the tone you want?
