Calibrate volume pedal - FBV Express Mk II

Recommended Posts

Having problems with my FBV Express Mk II. The volume was not going all the way to 100%, only to around 91-92%. I found the instructions for calibration on the Mk II: hold "D" and plug in, release to see "1", toe switch to see "2", heel then press "D" to see "3", forward and press "D" again. At this point I see "4", which is not mentioned in anything I have seen anywhere. The instructions say the seven lights should turn off one by one as I move the pedal to heel position, but they are either all on, or all off, no predictable pattern and the volume function is completely hosed. I have done this about twenty times, the most common result is 100% at heel, and abrupt 0% in the middle and back to 100% with nothing in between. Sometime it ends up the inverse of this. Bottom line is it does not work, nor does the calibration procedure.

Is there any way to get back to how it was before, or to reset it somehow to factory settings? The firmware is the latest via Monkey (1.10 I believe), it is NOT a bad cable, been through all combinations of unplugging/powering off, etc. Fwiw, the selector switches all work fine. Have not tried the wah as I don't need or use it. Hoping someone can shed some light on this, otherwise it is just another $100 paperweight/trash can liner.

Nope, no more warranty. Just hoping someone had some insight. I've tried the calibration routine a few more times and it 'sort of' worked a couple of times, but always with a long gap from heel to anything significant, then to 100% well before the end of travel. I'm going to pop it open to see if it is some sort of mechanical issue, though nothing has changed except doing the electronic calibration procedure.
