aaronsoots
Hello I just scored a used LT3 that sounds fantastic. I already had the dream rig but sold off my acoustic amp and bass amp for the LT3 which I am thrilled with. Weighs as much as my acoustic AG60 did but has way better sound quality. Lost a few inputs but the onboard mixer and anti-feedback are way better than anything I had on that AG60. I do a lot of small gigs but right now am playing around with trying to get my Dream rig to be stereo since I have this new LT3. From what I have gathered it's got to be at the end of the chain. I have Variax+VDI to HD500 + L6 Link to DT25 +L6 Link Out to LT3. I can get stereo but the thing is I use the Amp Pre on the HD500 but by the time my signal hits the LT3 the poweramp section isn't present. Even if I have the speaker sim selected on the LT3 it's still sounding off. Now If I just run the full amp simulation and go right into the LT3 it sounds great but what I am trying to do is somehow get not have to run the full amp sim into the DT25 to get a nice stereo set up. If this isn't possible I don't care, I don't do much stereo stuff anyway but it'd be cool to have the option. I still have the awesome ablility to run Acoustics to the LT3 and bypass the DT25. Had a few issues with the Variax when I got it a week or two ago but now it's just enjoying playing with the new gear.
wicker_man
If you want to send the pre model to the DT and the full model to the L3t you'll need to make a dual amp patch and then assign the output from amp A (assuming that's the pre) to the DT and amp B to the L3t. Make sure you have manually selected the electric guitar speaker mode on the L3. When connected via L6 link through the DT, the speaker mode won't be saved in your patch. This is my only complaint about this setup.
aaronsoots
Thanks wicker_man. I will try that. I have been running ino DSP issues when I do dual amps but have been thinking of going the HD500X route for this reason. I did not think of this prior but you are right it should work out well so long as I put the LT3 on guitar speaker mode. Will give it a go.
