Newbie on the forum so please be gentle.............
I have a choice to make in the next month or two regarding a new digital wireless handheld system. Whilst I had initially looked at the XD-V75, I got a bit nervous after reading reviews on the build quality of the handheld, especially the fragility of the battery compartment. One guy even commented that he had actually snapped a mic clean in half whilst changing batteries !!!. I then looked at the Sony DWZ-M50 as an alternative which is an all metal construction for the handheld. However, I havn't been able to find any user reviews on the Sony and can only find the usual industry blurb about how great their product is. I have no reason to doubt the quality of the Sony mic, its just that I can't find any useful reviews. I would love to go with the Line 6 as the reviews I have read are very good on sound quality etc... I especially liked the fact that the "mic modelling" includes the capsule from my wired mic of choice, the AE4100, but although this would be a nice feature, it wouldn't sway me over outright build quality. It would be nice to hear from anyone who perhaps had the same choice dilema I have and also any opinion on the worry of build quality. Just to put things into context, I work every weekend as a solo singer with about a dozen duo gigs a year thrown in. I am a bit anal about looking after my gear so everyhting has flightcases or padded bags.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
