LOOT606 Posted June 29, 2014 Share Posted June 29, 2014 Hey guys, I'm having trouble connecting my pod hd500 to my line 6 spider II head. I want to be able to bypass the spider II's pre amps and use the hd500 for an amplifier and effects. I have a cable for the variax that plugs into the "foot switch" outlet on the spider II but i don't know what to set the out put setting. When I plug it in there is no sound. I've been using just the regular "guitar cable to the front if the amp" or unbalanced l/mono -> the guitar in on the spider with the output being "combo front" but this does not let me bypass factory settings on the amp and use the hd500 as the amp. I looked at some videos online and nothing has helped. One video told me to bypass the amp settings to plug the L/mono(unbalanced) --> the "power amp in" but on the spider II it dose not have a power amp in. The spider II only has a guitar input, a pedal plug in(only for the variax cable), phones/direct out and a right 8 ohms in the back. Could someone please help me? If you have a spider ii head, you should have a cd/mp3 input jack as well. That would be your best bet. Set the output mode on the pod to combo power amp or studio/direct and see which sounds better.
