sax42
- First Recording Session, 12 mics, without Real PA < good so! - Audio mixing was done by another Analog Mixer, we used a splitter for all channels. - Everyhing works fine on my Standalone m20d WLAN - until i once disconnected my iPad (only switched off the Display, so that the remoteapp has to reconnect lateron) :) - When i later tried to reconnect, i waited (i know it takes time) - and nothing happend - no connection possibe. - Yes i know! - restarted iPad completly - nothing. - When i checked m20d and the Touchscreen was freezed for a long period - nothing, so i have to cold-start m20d. - The recording was usefull until the iPad Reconnection try Point. - After this nice experience, i could reconnect and record the second Set of Gig. - so -> Never close your connected iPad while recording or playing.

litesnsirens
I bought the other one they recommend, I think it was a Samsung. I found it was too unreliable to get a connection. If there are other stronger wifi signals in the room, it can make connecting a nightmare. I finally went with their number 1 recommendation which is to buy the apple USB to ethernet cable and then use that with and actual wifi router, in my case I bought an Apple Airport Express. Now connection is instant and reliable. Everyone in our band has an iPad. 3 of us use it mainly for the OnSong app. But this will allow each guy during soundcheck to tailer his own monitor mix from their ipad. Once we get that down and save the scene I doubt it will change too much from venue to venue, but still the minor adjustments can be made. sax42
Yes, i already had the Connection nightmare to - without any other strong wifi in a church Gig. The way i got through, was just to wait up to a Minute to get a Connection. Once established - it is working without any Problems. But until this Problem isn't solved - i will have the only iPad in my Group.
sax42
Can Line6 give a Statement here, that the recomended stick's are all working, but in a m20d network without additional wifi routers the are always connection problems -1) will be fixed in next fw2) i have to buy Airport Express
ArneLine6
The wifi USB dongles antennas are not as powerful as a wifi router's antenna and that is why they are more sensitive to interference. In these days there is wifi everywhere even if it is not that visible. Digital Wireless Microphones, Smartphones, Tablets etc. It makes sense to try different wifi channels since there is usally one or two channels that are just not available. The USB to Ethernet adapter solution with a wifi router works usually better because the antenna is stronger and the position can be optimized.
