guitarpirate91
Hey so I'm new when it comes too gear, recording and stuff thought you guys could help me out. So i have a pod hd pro that i use as a audio interface and dial my tones and record directly to my daw. I've had some latency issues and sometimes it would bug if i used it as my playback device. So i got an scarlett 2i2 that i wanna use that as my audio interface and use the pod the same way i normally do. Is it possible? if so how do get it to work? I figured i would use the unballanced out but I don't get any signal tried with both xlr and trs cables i only managed to get sound from the dry out. silverhead
Just curious - were you using the Line 6 ASIO driver when using your Pod HD Pro with your DAW? You shouldn't have latency issues when using this driver. The fact that you mention that you had an option to use (or, presumably, not use) the Pod HD Pro as your playback device suggests that you were using a non-ASIO compliant driver such as ASIO4ALL. The ASIO protocol definition does not support this, and the Line 6 driver would not permit this option. If you haven't used the Line 6 driver yet, try it. You might find you didn't need to have purchased another interface and can sell or return it for refund.
guitarpirate91
Thx for the reply i gonna try the line6 ASIO driver. :P As for the scarlett i have other non guitar equipment i can use with it so i don't need to get rid of it. Still curious how to use pod through the scarlett tho.
silverhead
To use the scarlett you would connect the POD's audio outputs (either XLR or 1/4") into the scarlett's two inputs. If using the 1/4" POD outputs, I would set the Pod 1/4" output setting to Line and set the input switch on the scarlett to match. If using the Pod's XLR outputs I would start with setting the input switch on the scarlett to Instrument. If that's too hot use the Line setting. cclement
Silverhead is right.... You can only use one audio interface at a time. So if you wan to use the Scarlet as your interface, you have to plug the POD into that. If you want you want to use the POD as your interface, you would not hook up the Scarlet. Akeron
I use the Scarlett with the POD XLR outputs, setting the two switches to "Line", the two Gain at 0 and "Direct Monitor" to "On" on the interface. I have no latency at all using Reaper. Using vsts in real time on the DAW is another story...
