pugdealer
Hey guys Quick question... I've got an HD500 and may upgrade to a 500X, so I was wondering if my saved preset bundles will go directly to the HD500X...I guess they will, right? silverhead
Yes - they will. Just drag/drop the HD500 presets (or load the setlist/bundle) into HD500X EDIT and then SEND to the HD500X device.
stumblinman
Yes they will. I did the same thing. Few months ago. It will load them up with no problem. Hey guys Quick question... moogary
What about the other way around? I have been using a 500X while I am getting my 500 repaired.
duncann
What about the other way around? I have been using a 500X while I am getting my 500 repaired. As long as none of the patches are changed to exceed the hd500 dsp limit, it should be fine. If you do change them, the only way to know this is to try it. chuberto
Just out of interest, what is anyone's rationale for upgrading from the 500 to the X? I have the 500 running into a Dt25 (which obviously means I make some CPU saving by using the pre only models) but most of my patches are dual amp models (to emulate twin channel amps), often with spring reverb, wah, modulation and delay. I can't think of many times where I've run out of CPU on a sensible patch. If my 500 went wrong, of course I'd be looking at a X but I can't see much point to change otherwise. duncann
I went from a 500 to 500x basically for more dsp while still contained within a single device (I like things simple that way). I use dual amps as well (but use the full versions) and with the 500 there just wasn't enough dsp left over for other basic things like delay, reverb, wah, etc. The 500x was quite satisfying in this way. stumblinman
I upgraded because I had to due to negligence by my singer. I like the extra DSP but didn't really need it. My big thing is I couldn't imagine going back to the "individual pedal dance". Turning dirt, delay, chorus all on individually, then off again. Tap tap tap. Tap tap tap. Stuff like that. Spoiled by multi fx state changes with a single button. That's actually my favorite feature of the Pods.
