darahmuda Posted September 18, 2014 Share Posted September 18, 2014 Hi, I just bought a Behringer C-1U without first read it carefully of what it requires on my system (yes, my bad). I'm thinking to send it back to the dealer, but first I want to make sure if it really doesn't work with UX1 and windows 7 and my DAW, at all. I can still hear the mic's sound come out from my speaker though, after a playback device setting on my OS, but there's still latency (pretty bad). The mic has its audio driver included on its CD, but it's an ASIO4all driver which is still an ASIO compared to the driver of UX1, so why should I change the driver? I didn't, for awhile. So I went to the DAW and started to record. Nothing's happened. The sound was still there, but it wasn't recorded. I looked at the audio driver setting on my DAW and yes, the mic wasn't detected and still is. The only checked box was UX1 ASIO driver. So I began to use ASIO4all driver which is also pretty lame with latency. Is it because my OS doesn't support it? (It's a windows XP/Vista supported by the way) So I opened back the DAW, change the audio driver setting, and hell it works. It's detected and recorded, but that means I can't use my UX1. darahmuda Posted September 18, 2014 Author Share Posted September 18, 2014 Thanks. I hope there's still a way. It's quite cheap mic and I'm on tight budget (the dealer won't give back my money). Had I bought the UX2 I won't have this problem, even C-1 is cheaper then the USB version. So I have to buy another real condenser and of course a phantom power, eventually. That takes more money and there's no other way out. I have to blame Behringer for this, for not giving a thorough information on their website. You'll barely find the written requirements, which is supposed to be easy to find at the bottom of every page of product. The only words I found with skimming was PC and Mac. What the hell. But the UX1 as you know has no phantom power, so you would need a UX2, a separate preamp that supplies phantom power, or a dynamic mic. Are you dead set on a condenser mic? Do you know how to make ASIO UX1 and A4A appear at the same time on driver setting in my DAW? I'm using Sonar by the way. First time I was curious why the A4A was having latency, at a second try tweeking It didn't recognize my C-1U anymore. The last thing I try was stopping windows audio and everything back to normal. The A4A is actually pretty good, I'm not having that latency again. But this time no sound come out, I can't monitor before anything's recorded. Is there anyway except turning off the windows audio? Looks like my UX1! and pretty affordable. Anyway, can I get two mics working with this one after plugging it to a single UX1 mic port? I see the preamp has two inputs. What is all possible turning off to activate my C-1U if it's being used by other application or program like MS GS wavetable synth? It gives me headache.
