HD300 USB not working

Hi,
I have a chance to buy a used POD HD300 for around $130, BUT the current owner says that the USB port isn't working. Could it be something easily repairable or is it more likely to be a big issue to fix?

If you're good with soldering you can replace the USB connector, which is notorious for breaking. This one works as a great replacement!

Thanks for replying! Does the USB port have to be this exact type? I mean could I use a port from an old printer if it's the same size?

You could probably shoehorn in many different USB connectors but the one in the link above has the same footprint as the original and will solder right into the HD300 PCB. There are probably others that will do the same. There are others that will fit the USB cable (since that's standard) but will have different PCB connections. But it certainly wouldn't hurt to open the old printer to see if it might fit.

Nevermind, it's been sold already, I'm getting a (hopefully) working used HD300 though! Thanks for the info, might be helpful anyway. :)

Also, per the on-line video the usb chip controller also requires replacement.

There is another video where the guy says it fixed it but doesn't show it working.

You might be lucky and it is just the connector.

I'd also buy it for less than $130 when you consider how much a new HD500 is 

at sweatwater!
