(Part of a sporadic, if highly questionable, series to not only celebrate Ron M’s elevation to “expert” status by Line 6, but also to firmly re-affirm his firm determination to remain a fully ...and firmly... independent end-users’ advocate. With or without additional firmware.)
Introducing The StageSource LA652d Concept:
Essentially a pair of Line 6's 655W "Class D" power amplifiers (from their powered loudspeakers) re-packaged into a common housing with Speakon output connectors to drive passive loudspeakers, but having the L6Link as their primary inputs, ...thereby having full StageScape addressability and control, negating the need for controls on the LA652 itself.
The "trick" would be for the LA652's cunningly fan-cooled housing to be slim enough either to sit underneath as the base for a StageScape M20d mixer, (sharing that mixer's exact "footprint") or to allow for the multiple "stacking" of "backstage" amplifiers.
