I have a POD HD500, i'm very satisfied for playing in my flat with headphones.

But I have a problem, I have a Fender Princeton to play in band, and I want to use only the effects and remove the amp simulation.

I tried yesterday with this configuration:

  • Output mode = "Combo Front"
  • connection = "Unbalanced output L mono" ====> "Enter Instrument n°1"
  • No amp in my preset

I was surprised because of the volume: I'm at the maximum of the amp but I hear almost nothing.

Do I have to have a simulation of preamp necessarily?

I would like to keep my Princeton sound!

Can you help me?

Maybe I have to do an other procedure?

Thank you for your help!

I suspect that in your patch you have the amp model toggled off rather than the amp model slot disabled..
if so, even if the amp model is toggled off there is still the amp bypass volume active that must be set..
or disable completely the amp slot to get the full signal..
check also the volume settings of the POD mixer block

if the output volume is still too low, try setting the switch 1/4 OUT (next to the volume pedal) to LINE, even if normally in a setup like yours it should be set to AMP
