DT Customizer for iPad
by theoptimizers on 2013-03-18 16:08:39

I'm releasing a new version of DT Customizer very shortly.  Will have iPad layouts.

This version not only saves settings, but you can give each voicing a "name".  So, you can save settings for a song or artist, and easily find the settings.  Future versions will allow you to keep a library of voicings, so can easily arrange groups of 8 voicings (2 channels, 4 voices) your DT25 or DT50.

I'm still working on it, so please let me know how this could be more useful for you.

Here are some preliminary screen shots:

New feature will be very helpful for standalone DT50/DT25 users.

This looks great! Well done.

Do you need the MIDI Mobiliser for it to work, or does it work with any other connectors?

I have tested it with two Midi interfaces: The Line 6 Midi Mobilizer and the iRig Midi Interface.  The app works great with both.

Do you have a different interface?

I don't have one yet. I have the iPad mini which has the new lightening connector, and there doesn't seem to be any midi interfaces available for it yet. I'm guessing Line 6 or IK will bring one out soon though.

I know you can get an adapter for Lightning to 32-pin Apple, then you can use the Midi Mobilizer or iRig Midi.

I have an iPad and iPhone with the 32-pin connections. I'm going to upgrade my iPhone in the next couple of months, so I'm going to get the adapter.

I've looked around for a Lightning Midi interface and I haven't seen one yet.  I'm sure they'll be out soon.

Great job Opt. Line6 should put you the payroll. I'm surprised they isn't think of this instead of having manually configure it the hard way.

Thanks!

I think Line 6 figured a couple of guys like Rollo and I would want to do this. They are forward thinkers.

Hi

The app looks really good I just wanted to clarify the use of the eq controls. I understand that they are not saved in the amp, but instead can be saved in the app.

When the amp is turned on and the settings applied from the app (including the eq) if I change from channel A to B and then back again will the eq settings of channel A still be the same?

Thanks

Lewis

Hi Lewis,

Sorry for the delayed response...

The short answer is, as long as the iOS app is connected to the amp, the "eq" settings will be sent when you switch channels.

The longer answer is that as long as you are working with a saved setting file (i.e. you have loaded a previously saved setting file, or you have saved your current settings to a file), the "eq" settings will be sent when you switch channels.

When the app is first loaded (and no settings file has been loaded ort saved) settings will not be setn to the amp when the channel changes.  This is to prevent unintentional stomping of amp settings.

Hope that helps.

Cass
