Gagbag's strap is bad. Don't use it
by clay-man on 2013-03-23 13:34:43

So I packed my 600 in my gigbag and when I walked out the door, the "metal" hook that goes to the triangle or such broke, and my 600 fell on the sidewalk, body facing down.

Thankfully the gigbag is nice and padded so I don't hear or see any damage when I checked it.

Just a fair warning. Get rid of the hook and just tie the strap really tight into the other cloth loop. It can't handle the weight of the guitar. The hook/snap is made out of cheap material.

I don't know why Line 6 doesn't offer the choice of a hard case when you buy the Variax? I just bought the JTV-89 last week and I love the guitar....I just hate cases that aren't hard... I am glad your guitar isn't damaged...

I know. The cloth part of the bag is great, but the metal used is a pos.

I tied the broken part onto the ring, hopefully that'll stay, unless that ring breaks too. I should just tie it to the small cloth loop, but it won't fit.

+ for great padding

- for shaddy metal/fake metal used.

I actually liked the strap idea a lot. Carrying it on my back would be nice if I'm walking around a place with it to leave my hands free.

A hardcase would be nice, but the gigbag is pretty nice, just saying that the metal used on all metal pieces is garbage. Line 6 probably wanted to save money I guess.
