8000900c error code
by tymbral on 2013-03-27 08:45:29

I have been trying to update the firmware on my JTV 69.  I keep getting the 8000900c error code.  I have a guitar cable plug into the 1/4 port and the included VDI cable hooked into the usb interface.  Am I missing something.  Does the other end of the guitar cable need to be connected to somthing.

I followed the checklist and still I get either the same code or I get an error saying there is a check sum issue.  My variax now does not work.  I get sound but none of the different guitar sounds is on the guitar anymore.  I have tried to rollback the firmware but keep getting the same error messages.  I need this fixed ASAP.  PLEASE HELP!!!

The error code you are getting usually indicates a problem with the usb connection to your computer. Try using other usb ports on your computer, and do not use any usb hubs. Also try using another usb cable.

Try a different USB cable, I've had that make a difference. Also, in addition to connecting directly to a USB port on the computer, disconnect any other USB devices especially drives or USB-powered devices if possible.

Contact Line 6 Tech Support directly, either by telephone (see Contact Us button at the foot of this page) or by opening a support ticket (See Contact Technical Support under the Support tab at the top of this page).

You might be doing this already but if not here is a suggestion. Download the file from the Line6 page and then chose update from file in monkey rather than uppdate from network. On most computers today the network interface is an internal USB device and for some reason they seem to interact badly with monkey when updating some firmware. I have had the same problems as you have both for the JTV and my POD HD but installing from local file always solved the problem. Also if you have a somewhat old computer make sure that there are a minimum of programs running while you update.

Just my 2c.
