Transfer of ownership
by Essex on 2013-04-13 06:04:33

Hi, I'm selling my Toneport UX2 (red model) and Pod Farm licence.  I've read on this site about de-registering the hardware and "gifting" the software etc. and that all sounds very complicated, especially for the new owner.  Given that the UX2 is my only Line 6 product and I won't be needing my account anymore, is there any reason why I can't just change my personal details to that of the new owner so that he/she can take over where I leave off?  Surely that would be the simplest way of doing it in my case where the account is no longer needed.

Please confirm, thanks, Rick Harrison

no reason to do any of that. just handing over the device will work because you are only letting it go wit hthe standard licenses. you only have to transfer if you have purchased addons etc.

in this case just go here: http://line6.com/account/registergear/

and hit remove and the new owner can register and do what ever he needs to do.

Thanks for the reply TheRealZap but I do have software licences!  The older (red) model UX2 only came with Gearbox and I had to purchase PodFarm 2 to get VST functionality.  I also have some free upgrade listed on my acc, can't remember to what just now, but both those items will need transferring to the new owner.

after the new owner sets up an account (they can do so ahead of time)

just go here: http://line6.com/account/purchasehistory/ (from your account)

go to the details of the purchase and near the top there should be a give as gift link.

if you haven't already sold it though...

you can sell it with the stock licenses, and keep your addon licenses, as pod farm and the model packs will work with other interfaces.

So, I have to de-register my hardware then the new owner can register it in their account, and then I can "Gift" them my PodFarm 2 licence.  OK that's not too hard.

Thanks again TheRealZap, you've been a great help.
