Pod HD 500 Clipping Issue
by VinceSoliveri on 2013-04-16 17:05:22

Hello internet.

I own a Pod HD 500. When I am playing though it directly into my M-Audio interface I experiece harsh clipping on all of my patches. This clipping is equally noticable when being played through an amp. It is hard to tell if the clipping occurs on the distorted patches, but it is extremely noticable on the clean patches. I do not think it is an issue with my guitar for I have tried several guitars with with several patch cords with this device and the clipping occurs with each one, unless all guitars are too hot, which is unlikely. Even when I go to the mixer in the signal chain and put both Path A and Path B to -10 db, the clipping is still clearly audible. The PAD switch does a little bit to help the issue, but not much. The only times the clipping seems to subside is when the gain on my patch is extremely low, and at that point the volume is very quiet. It is a real pain to try and figure out where the source of this noise is coming from due to the lack of a physical notification of clipping on the device. If someone could help resolve the issue, or even tell me why this is happening, it is greatly appreciated

Thank You.
