Impedance question.
by xusmoide on 2010-04-02 04:17:45

HELLO, FRIENDS

I HAVE PURCHASED A SPIDER VALVE MK II AND A CABINET 412VS-T.

I CAN RUN MY AMP AND MY CAB AT TWO DIFFERENT IMPEDANCES, AT 4 OR 16 OHMS.

MY QUESTIONS ARE, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN TERMS OF SOUND ?. WHAT IMPEDANCE IS BETTER ?

Hi

It should not make any difference to the sound which impedance you use as long as the impedance of the cab is matched to the correct output jack on the back of the amp,  There may be a slight difference in practice I suppose - and I would not expect it to be great if there is a difference at all - only your ears will tell you what (if any) setting sounds best.  Electronically speaking there isn't a 'best' setting.
