I have a spider 111 120watt amp that has started to cut out some times when you turn a dial then it starts to make clicking noises and i have to turn it off to get it going again but sometimes it does not work for a while

The only thing you can try on your own is to reset the amp:

Hold the A button down as you power on the amp. Let go after about 5 seconds.

If the problem persists, you will need to take it to an authorized service center:

Here the problem demonstrated in a Spider III. I show which part is the root of the problem. It's a very difficult job to replace the part itself which is only $20.

The problems is, to replace the board Line 6 wants about $160!   The problem is the Digital Signal processor.

Search for the YouTube video "Demonstration of and solution to an intermittent problem with a Line 6 Spider III amplifier"

A heat sink on the DSP does help a lot.

Hope this helps.
