How to get a good, warm, tight metal distortion out of POD XT Live
by ncaraujo on 2010-07-14 17:13:18

Hello to you all.

I recently bought a POD XT Live, (I've always used Boss GT's until now and I was always happy with them). I already had bought a SPIDER II CAB+AMP, so I was really in a good vibe with Line 6's products. And I read some reviews about XT Live and decided to buy it, once everyone was saying that XT live's distortions were way better that GT ones.

The problem with the XT Live is that I cannot get any good distortions sounds out of the unit. I tweak, and tweak and change and I always get fuzzy distortions and not a good, warm, tight, metal distortion, as I did get with my Boss GT 6. I always run the sound with the amp simulation turned off (so there is no need for a metal pack, right?)

I run the unit connected to my amp's input, as I did with my GT6. So the question is: how to get a good, warm, tight metal distortion out of POD XT Live.

I Hope that someone can help me with this question.

Thanks in advance.

Nuno

Hi,

Tone is always in the ears of the beholder, so unfortunately I can't help you with specific settings. But we do have some great links here on the forums you should check out.

Creating and Balancing Tones:

Here's a community forum of users that share their settings:

You can also try downloading some tomes from customtone.com:

Thanks,
