Got the problem when I am using Ux1
by Denise1395 on 2011-02-05 04:05:57

Hi

I got the Ux1 today and there was a problem existed when I was going to use it

When I got this and back home , I install all the software(Include the driver)..

Then..I set the INPUT and OUTPUT to Ux1..also I plugged the headphone and Micophone (Shure PG48) to the hole in the Ux1

However, I only got the sound in headphone .There was no sound when I was making some noise to the micophone

So.I went to Control Panel and I just wanted to set the volume of the micophone

There is a warning and it said:There is a problem with your sound hardware. To install mixer dievices, go to Control Panel , click Printers and Other Hardware , and then click Add Hardware

Then I uninstalled the driver and installed it again

It still not work.

Is there any problem with my computer?I am using Window XP

Thanks a lot if anyone can solve my problem!(Sorry for my poor English)

Have you registered your UX1 with your Line 6 account?

Have you activated your UX1 device and software licenses on your computer using Line 6 Monkey?

If you have not yet done these steps please try them.

Sorry for my poor comprehension..I still have a question..

How can I register my Ux1 with this account?

Is the second step means I need to install the Line6 Monkey?

Thank you for your patient

There is a knob on the top of the UX1 that is called Mic Gain. Have you tried increasing that to improve the sound of your microphone?

I'm not sure exactly what it is that you are trying to do. Please help me understand your setup, your intentions, and what is not behaving as expected. Here's what I understand, and some specific questions about what I don't understand:

- You have installed all software. Does that include Pod Farm? What software/program are you using with the UX1? What are you trying to do with the UX1?

- You have set it up as the Input and Output. Did you set that up in a specific applicaiton/program, or did you set the Ux1 as your computer's general sound card?

- You plugged headphones and micropone into the UX1. You say you only get sound through the headphones. What sound are you getting? Where is it coming from? Where else (other than headphones) are you expecting to hear it?

- You are not getting sound through the microphone. Does that mean you don't hear sound form the mic through the headphones?

- Have you installed Line 6 Monkey? Does it recognize your UX1? Did you use Monkey to install your UX1 driver?

Please try to answer all of the above as best you can.

-Yes.I have installed the Pod Farm already. I use Adobe Audition 3.0 to record. However, when I run the program there is also a warning indicate that my audio input is not actived.

-Did you mean set all the Input and Output in the Control Panel to Ux1 instead the sound card?

-I heard the sound from my computer. That's means it had instead the sound card already.Actually I expect I can hear the sound I made to the micophone

-Yes.Both the speaker of the computer and headphones

-I checked for 3-4 times I have install the Line6 Monkey and the computer can also detected Ux1.I also have installed my Ux1 driver

Thanks a lot

Oops!!! Is Riffworks2 Line 6 Edition important?

I discovered that I haven't install it..

No - you don't need to install Riffworks. In fact I recommend you don't. The Riffworks Line 6 Edition is obsolete. The latest version of Riffworks (called T4) is a free download. It is another recording program, designed for guitarists. It is worht playing with but not relevant to your current issues.

Iwill consider the information in your last post and get back to you later.

Check your audio system setup in your Audition program. You may need to configure Audition to recognize/use the UX1 and its ASIO driver as the audio input/output device. You will need to do this in order to record and playback audio using the UX1 in Audition. If you are having problems configuring Audition, try using Riffworks T4.

-Did you mean set all the Input and Output in the Control Panel to Ux1 instead the sound card?

That is optional. If you do this then the UX1 will become your computer sound card for all purposes - including things like playing back iTunes. You will need your UX1 powered on every time you want to use your computer audio, and you will need to connect your computer speakers to the UX1 outputs. The advantage is that it is probably a better quality soundcard than your computer's internal sound card.

-I heard the sound from my computer. That's means it had instead the sound card already.Actually I expect I can hear the sound I made to the micophone

Try the above, at least temporarily - set the Ux1 as you computer's soundcard, connect your computer speakers to the UX1 outputs (1/4" or headphones) and experiment.

For everybody experiencing LOW VOLUME SIGNAL on POD Studio Line 6 ux1 , ux2 , ux3 and maybe so on ...
by Art1sBack on 2011-02-18 19:41:25

Hy!

After spending 3 days on this problem and  reading huge numbers of forums when I was almost ready to give up I  have suddenly found the answer for it by myself

I  am laughting at myself now, because as I thought at the begining to fix  it was really very very simple. So now I want to share with you guys.  Not sure if it will help everybody, but there is one simple test to do  to know it! Just take the mic and go far away from  you computer - if the signal becomes lower ir means that  after reading my post you will fix the problem )

Problem definition: your mic volume level is very very low.

    Solving the problem:

Introduction:  I had a windows 7 64bit, but as a user of Windows XP for many years I  know that the steps you need to take to solve the problem would be  almost the same, oh I am now using Win XP, because it's not myns computer

1) Click right on the volume control icon on the TASKBAR. Click ADJUST AUDIO PROPERTIES

2) Go to the AUDIO tab

3) Change SOUND PLAYBACK and SOUND RECORDING to the hardware you want to be it - Line 6 UX 1 or UX 3 or something else

4)  Of course don't forget to unmute mic volume regulation tab in VOLUME  CONTROL ( if it is not there, means that you need to add it - think you  know how to do it )

THATS ALL GUYS    happpyyyy EeeeennndddDDDDD

Hi,

I have exactly the problem as described before. I have been using the Line 6 studio gx pod successfully for 2 days. Earlier tonight, after just recording a track, I lost all input. When I checked the audio settings through windows I got the error message "There is a problem with your sound hardware.  To install a mixer device ..." etc, etc.".

To fix the issue I first installed my pending windows updates, and then I installed the latest versions of the drivers (already had the most recent versions installed but downloaded and installed the latest versions from the line 6 website anyway to make sure). Still I get the same problem. No sound whatsoever, not when I plug my headphone directly into the pod, nor do I get any input in my computer.

Very frustrating, would really appreciate some help.

Thanks,

Emiel
